Nicole Campbell, aka “Soup” or “Big Smooth”, “calm, cool and collected” “always poised” and Cole on and off the court, has merged her two passions after gaining hands on experience in both Speech + SPORTS. As a former youth sports athlete in gymnastics, swimming, track and field, volleyball and basketball, including NCAA athlete, International player, NJCAA coach, sports event management and volunteer, she has a lifetime in sports. She later returned to school to pursue her first major in college and now, has 13 seasons as an speech-language pathologist. The goal was always to combine both areas of study in order to give back to the game.
In 2012, at Marshall University, she completed an independent research study on Sports-related Concussions and the SLP’s role. It then became clear that SLP’s have a valuable role in Concussion management and recovery but very few had any idea. She steadfast went on to further clinical learning by working nationwide across settings for both pediatrics and adults, ages 0-104 year old. She is a Concussion expert, Generalist SLP and Bilingual Assessor licensed in California, Oklahoma and Texas.
On +Off the court, Nicole enjoys spending time with family + friends, traveling, exercise + strength training, food +culture, staying active, and the beach is her happy place. She stays curious about learning, listening to people’s stories and being a global citizen. Nicole thrives on balance, seeing others smile and switching up the normalcy of every day.
